Earth Week 2019
The UEU held its first big event in April of 2019 with a week of environmental showcases and activities. Marjora Carter, Peabody Award Winning Broadcaster and social entrepreneur from the South Bronx, spoke on how the built environment can promote equitability in our communities and the importance of talent retention for these spaces. Her talk was a collaboration with Sustainable Duke, Duke Student Government, and Duke Student Wellness. During Earth Week, students also had the opportunity to plant trees with Duke landscaping, sample produce from the Campus Farm, tie-dye t-shirts, tour Duke's Chiller Plant with the Energy Club, learn from a Climate Panel with Environmental Alliance, and more!
